Please note that this is a kid-only camp.
Eligibility:
Class IV to VIII
2-days
4-projects!
This camp is a culmination of sorts to our three-year research into progressive science education for children. The YS SkillPro Camp highlights many of the skills that we have identified in children that need special attention. These are aspects of a child's growth that don't receive complete attention and nurturing in schools. These include:
Fine motor skills
Use of mechanical tools
Adhesives and Materials
Design and Crafting
Solid waste reclamation
"Trash to Cash"
Gardening
Composting, Manure and Plant care
Survival skills
Electrical wiring
Product development
Use of electrical tools
Participants will receive training in the above by way of carefully designed activities and DIY projects. DIY or Do-It-Yourself is a movement that encourages individuals to use and develop their skills to solve problems through tinkering, fabrication, and re-purposing.
SkillPro Camp is an advanced camp that provides hands-on experience in many skills that improve the quality of life. These skills have a foundation in science and are commonly used in everyday life.
All the projects are take-home models.
Note: This is a two-day event. When purchasing the tickets please choose the first date and you will be eligible to attend all the sessions. The camp fee is for all the sessions altogether. Group discount may be offered on purchase of multiple tickets. If you would like to learn more, please get in touch with us.

Camp Philosophy:
Young-Scientist ensures that at least 50% of its programs contain hands-on activities. We believe that learning is best when immediately reinforced by a visual and tangible lesson. Some of the experiments we do are demonstrations for the safety of the children. However, none of our workshops are pure theory/lecture, unless otherwise stated. We encourage the children's active participation in experiments/activities whenever possible.
The key concepts per session will be kept minimal and simple.
They will be reinforced repeatedly, along with experiments, to achieve the desired learning outcomes.
Experiments and activities will be distributed over the duration of the session.
Theory sessions will be brief and serve to connect the different activities.
Videos and animations will be employed whenever possible.
Worksheets and Observation sheets will be provided wherever necessary.
