10 students get Young Achievers Awards

 Ten students of Bishop Cotton Boy’s School, who won an International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC), were honoured with Young Achievers Award by the Rotary Club of Madras here on Tuesday.
A Sampathkumar, district governor of Rotary Club of Madras, handed over the award to Subham Joshi, team leader of the 10-member squad. During the ISSDC competition held at Johnson Space Centre in Houston, USA, the boys had designed proposal to ensure second settlement on Mars in 2071.
Receiving the citation and the award, Joshi expressed his gratitude to the rotarians for the acknowledgement and thanked them for giving him an opportunity to present the gist of the project presented in the competition. He said they divided themselves into four individual departments and came up with 40 slides that gave an in-depth proposal on how to settle dwellers in Mars and termed the project as “terraforming the Mars”.
Naming the team as ‘terrific 10’, Sampathkumar congratulated them for winning the global competition organised by National Space Society and American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics.
